EMDR Therapy
I am thrilled to offer this powerful therapy modality. I use it often in my practice because I continually see incredible results with it. Originally developed for the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, EMDR has evolved to treat a wide-range of issues.
Binge Eating Disorder
Phobias
Parenting triggers
Statement of Beliefs: My practice is grounded in social justice, equality, and body liberation. Your identity and lived experience matter and will always be welcome in this space.
What is a brain-based approach to therapy?
Trained as both an academic and a clinician, I first and foremost work from a philosophy of science. We build hypotheses, test ideas, and identify what works for you and what doesn’t. While my personality is laid-back, during our work together I am highly engaged and active in the process. You will see me taking some notes, this is because I use visuals to identify connections I see, deepen my insight into your story, and to note ideas I have that may help you. This process maximizes the time we spend together.
Brain-based modalities use the brain’s incredible ability to heal through activating it’s learning centers while engaged in therapy. Ever feel like you “know what the right thing is to do” but cannot seem to fully believe or implement that thing? Or you feel like you keep hitting a block in a belief about yourself or your worth? These missed connections can keep people feeling stuck and brain-based approaches are one way to close that gap.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. This is a powerful modality to help people heal from painful experiences, overcome certain fears/anxieties, and move past stuck points (and, it can be done effectively via telehealth).

The Fine Print
I’m a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of field experience. My clinical training spans community mental health centers, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs, therapeutic schools, three university counseling centers, and private practices. I have thorough training in psychological assessment, individual, couples, family, and group therapy. A highlight of my training was a concentration in Eating Disorders on my Pre-Doctoral Internship where I co-coordinated the Eating Disorder Treatment Team at a large university.
Outside of my clinical work, one of my great joys is teaching and sharing my enthusiasm for the incredible field of psychology. I am an adjunct faculty member for the Clinical Counseling Graduate Program at The Citadel and have taught at the undergraduate level as well. I also have had the privilege of supervising graduate students during their clinical training. I offer professional consulting to companies and mental health start-ups.
Personally, I love spending time outdoors with my two children and my spouse. I am incredibly crafty and there is rarely an artistic pursuit I haven’t tried (and hyperfocused on). I also have a niche fascination with meteorology and am often spotting storms in my spare time.
